Kenyan Baringo County Medical Professionals Invited by Gyeonggi Province to Visit Korea for Medical Training

Gyeonggi Province has invited medical professionals from Baringo County, Kenya to a training program to share advanced medical technology at Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center. 

Three doctors from the surgery, pediatrics, and internal medicine departments of Baringo County Hospital in Kenya are scheduled to visit Gyeonggi Province from June 17 to July 12, 2024, for a four-week training program at Paju Hospital and Icheon Hospital of the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.

This medical training program is a follow-up project to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Gyeonggi Province and Baringo County, Kenya in May 2023 for the development of the healthcare sector. It marks the first exchange project for healthcare cooperation between Gyeonggi Province and Baringo County.

A Gyeonggi Province healthcare delegation, comprising members from Gyeonggi Province, the Gyeonggido Assembly, and the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, visited Baringo County, Kenya, in May 2023. During the visit, they signed an MOU and discussed personnel exchanges between medical professionals while visiting Baringo County Hospital.

This medical training program will be conducted at the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center. The trainees will be divided between Paju Hospital and Icheon Hospital, where they will attend various training programs prepared by the medical center, including observing surgeries, internal medicine treatments and examinations, ward rounds, rehabilitation therapy sessions, and ward tours.
