Gyeonggi Province has achieved meaningful outcomes in strengthening intergovernmental cooperation and expanding the foundation for attracting international patients through its medical marketing initiative targeting Central Asia, specifically Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
A Gyeonggi Province medical delegation visited Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and Almaty, Kazakhstan, for a five-day trip from the 19th to the 23rd, where they carried out international healthcare initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation in the health sector and promoting the attraction of foreign patients.
The delegation included 12 medical institutions from Gyeonggi Province: Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, The Catholic University of Korea Bucheon St. Mary’s Hospital, Korea University Ansan Hospital, Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital, Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital, Myongji Hospital, National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital, G Sam Hospital, Korea Medical Institute (KMI) Suwon Branch, Apple Tree Dental Hospital, Gangnam Women’s Hospital, and Siwha Hospital.
During the visit, Gyeonggi Province held meetings with the Tashkent Regional Government and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan to discuss future cooperation initiatives, including the expansion of medical training programs and the implementation of the MedTech Academy. These discussions further strengthened the foundation for healthcare cooperation between the two regions.

In addition, Gyeonggi Province hosted the “Medical Gyeonggi Business Forum in Uzbekistan,” where one-on-one (B2B) business consultations were conducted between local medical professionals, agencies, and participating institutions. The forum confirmed the potential for practical medical collaboration and patient referrals. Approximately 50 participants, including healthcare professionals and travel industry representatives from Uzbekistan, attended the event, demonstrating strong interest in Gyeonggi Province’s healthcare services.
The delegation also participated in the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF), the largest tourism and medical exhibition in Central Asia, held in Almaty. At the event, Gyeonggi Province operated a promotional booth and, together with its 12 participating medical institutions, actively introduced its medical technologies and services to local visitors and agencies.
Through both the forum and the exhibition, Gyeonggi Province expanded its network with major hospitals and international travel agencies in Central Asia, laying the groundwork for future growth in attracting foreign patients.
Gyeonggi Province has continuously pursued various cooperative initiatives with Central Asian countries, including medical training programs and international academic conferences. This recent visit marks a significant step toward expanding these exchanges into more outcome-oriented partnerships.
Han Jeong-hee, Director of the Medical Resources Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated,
“Central Asia is a strategic market where demand for medical services is rapidly increasing. Based on the outcomes of this mission, we will continue to expand overseas market entry for medical institutions and strengthen efforts to attract international patients.”
