-Lecture and hospital tour successfully completed for the Iraq National Hospital training delegation

On September 17, Sejong Hospital held a lecture and on-site tour on Digital Transformation for the Iraq National Hospital training delegation. The event served as a meaningful occasion to share Sejong Hospital’s achievements in digital innovation and its vision for the future of healthcare on an international level.
Thirteen Iraqi trainees were invited to participate in this visit with the aim of strengthening hospital management system capabilities. Sejong Hospital introduced its advanced facilities and digital systems, creating an opportunity to build a positive network between medical institutions of the two countries.
Chairman Park Jin-sik began with a lecture titled “The Digital Transformation Journey of Medical Institutions: Sejong Hospital’s Experience.” He emphasized that “digital transformation is no longer a choice but an essential condition for the future of healthcare,” explaining that it is not merely about adopting IT systems but about a long-term innovation that changes the organization’s overall workflow and mindset. He also introduced Sejong Hospital’s diverse systems built on the organizational culture of “Work digitally, Think digitally, Add value digitally,” including smart hospital infrastructure, data-driven management, RPA, AI- and big data-based medical services, and AI electrocardiogram analysis. During the Q&A session, participants showed great interest by asking practical questions on topics such as digital exclusion among the elderly, AI training, and data security.
After the lecture, the tour program focused on key departments, including the 8A ward, AI interpretation system, radiology team, and electrocardiography room.
In the 8A ward, the delegation observed the real-time patient management system utilizing mobile EMR/ENR and nurses’ PDAs, as well as the AI-based risk monitoring system AEGIS. The trainees asked questions such as how these technologies concretely contribute to patient safety in clinical settings and were deeply impressed by how seamlessly the system is integrated into ward operations.
During the AI interpretation demonstration, the atmosphere was at its peak. When Lee Chang-keun, Head of Clinical Support, presented real-life applications of AI interpretation, the delegation asked specific questions such as, “What is the level of diagnostic reliability?” and “How helpful is it in identifying high-risk patients?” Some participants expressed their desire to continue exchanging knowledge with Sejong Hospital’s medical staff even after returning home, showing great interest in the practical clinical applications of digital technology.
In the radiology department, the latest 512-channel CT and 3-Tesla MRI equipment were introduced. The delegation asked practical questions such as, “Can patients with rapid heartbeats be examined stably?” and “What is the level of radiation exposure?” They also remarked, “The larger MRI size seems to make patients feel much more comfortable.” Some participants took commemorative photos in front of the equipment, expressing that they were deeply impressed by Sejong Hospital’s environment.
In the electrocardiography room, the delegation observed the interpretation process of the AI-based ECG analysis solution AiTiALVSD. Upon seeing the automatically generated AI analysis comments on the test reports, the participants responded positively, calling it “an innovative approach that enhances both diagnostic efficiency and accuracy.”
Samar Abdulhamid Majid Al-Abbasi, the head of the delegation, stated, “This training went beyond a simple visit; it was an opportunity to experience firsthand how digital innovation transforms patient care and hospital operations.” He added, “Sejong Hospital’s case will serve as a practical reference for innovation in our own country’s hospitals.”
Chairman Park Jin-sik stated, “This program served as an opportunity for meaningful international exchange,” adding that the hospital will continue to build an advanced, digitally driven medical environment and collaborate with overseas medical institutions in the future.
