The Catholic University of Korea St. Vincent’s Hospital Joins Inaugural G-Quantum Bio Summit with Digital Healthcare Platform Initiative

The “G-Quantum Bio Summit” is a regional flagship international conference selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea and the Korea Tourism Organization. The first summit was held last September through a consortium of 12 institutions, including The Catholic University of Korea St. Vincent’s Hospital (hereinafter “St. Vincent’s Hospital”), Gyeonggi Province, and the Sungkyunkwan University Startup Support Foundation. Approximately 1,000 domestic and international experts in quantum science and the bio industry, as well as representatives from academia, research institutes, hospitals, and companies, gathered to discuss ways to integrate quantum technology with the bio industry.

At the event, St. Vincent’s Hospital, together with iKoob, took the lead in hosting the “Digital Healthcare Platform Summit” on the third day, providing an in-depth forum for discussions on innovating patient care services through smart medical devices. The sessions were largely divided into: Digital healthcare platforms and the public healthcare innovation ecosystem; Hospital-based digital care validation; and regional healthcare linkage-based digital medical innovation and artificial intelligence.

In particular, the “Hospital-Based Digital Healthcare Validation” session was chaired by Professor Lee Kang-moon, Director of Planning and Coordination at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Professors from St. Vincent’s Hospital participated directly as speakers and presented cases of smart medical applications based on digital healthcare platforms, including, St. Vincent’s Hospital’s experience in applying digital healthcare (Professor Koh Seung-hyeon, Head of the PI Office / Division of Endocrinology); connecting medical staff – multidisciplinary system, NAVIFY (Professor Kim Hyeon-ho, Division of Oncology); connecting patients and medical staff – aftercare (Professor Jeon Ye-won, Division of Breast Surgery); and clinical application of digital therapeutics (Professor Eom Yoo-hyeon, Department of Psychiatry), drawing significant attention.

In his opening remarks, Professor Jeong Jin-yeong, Chief Medical Officer of St. Vincent’s Hospital, stated, “St. Vincent’s Hospital is leading the implementation of digital medicine and AI in clinical practice, and we plan to actively introduce a wide range of digital healthcare solutions going forward.” He added, “We hope this summit will serve as a starting point for hospitals, companies, and the government to broaden their mutual understanding and open a platform for close collaboration to advance the bio-digital healthcare industry.”

This year as well, the “G-Quantum Bio Summit” is scheduled to be jointly held alongside Gyeonggi Bio Week, and it is drawing considerable anticipation and interest with the aim of promoting networking among related institutions and fostering the bioindustry ecosystem.
